Do you want a meal that will satisfy your appetite
& get different vitamins from it at the same time?
Malunggay Burger w/ Mushroom Sauce is the answer!!!!
(This picture, copied from yahoo..I forgot my phone...
it was almost the same image I took.)
I love burgers!
and it gives me an idea to make my own version of burger which i called the malunggay burger...
Obviously, one of the main ingredients of it is Moringa Olcifera (or the Malunggay).
MALUNGGAY?????? yuck! (I don't like this at first)
I researched about this plant and eventually I found out, that despite of it's very simple appearance it is full of vitamins and micro nutrients.
Let me share..
Gram for gram of it, contains:
-7 times the vitamin C in oranges
-4 times the vitamin A in carrots
-4 times the Calcium in milk
-2 times the Protein in milk
-3 times the vitamin Iron in Spinach
-3 times the Potassium in bananas
In our house most of us don't want veggies...
We eat pork, meat and processed foods most of the time (nakakasawa na talaga!).
That's the reason why I made an experiment. An experiment which I combined the malunggay leaves to my homemade burger.
I chose malunggay rather than the other vegetables because I based it in our health conditions...
My mother is diabetic and high blood. Some doctors used malunggay to treat Diabetes and high blood pressure.
I am anemic! Malunggay is effective against cancer, constipation, diarrhea and anemia.
My sister most of the time, she's exhausted. Mallunggay can rebuild weak bones.
Our "Bunso" is prone in skin rushes. Malunggay has antibiotic properties against skin infections.
See! malunggay is very nutritious herb!
Hmmmm...Enough for the benefits.
Come with me and Let's cook the Malunggay Burger.
Yes! I'll teach you how.
You need to prepare this ingredients:
1/4 Ground pork
1 clove of garlic
1 big of onion (white)
3 Tbsp of toyo
1/2 tsp of pepper
1/2 tsp of celery
3 cups of malunggay leaves (ground or minced)
2 eggs
7 Tbsp of cornstarch
2 eggs
magic sarap (optional)
It is all easy to find!
now, this is the procedure...
*Heat the pan,put small amount of oil or butter (much better).
Saute the garlic and onions then add the ground pork with 3 Tbsp of toyo. Wait until the ground pork produced fatty fluids. You can now add the celery & malunggay leaves! After 2 minutes, put the cooked ground pork in a bowl. Beat 2 eggs and add the cornstarch. Sprinkle the magic sarap and salt to taste. Then you can now fry the combined ingredients.
Malunggay Burger patties was already cooked!
Oooopppppsss! not yet done. how about the sauce?
The sauce can add flavor and visual appeal.
It can makes our malunggay burger more attractive.
Because I want instant!
as of now, I'll prepare you a mushroom sauce that is easy to prepare.^_^
Just buy gravy(pack) then follow the procedure at the back of it. Add the chopped mushrooms.
That's all! hehehe
We can now put the mushroom sauce in the malunggay burger...Hmmmm..
I aM already hungry! We can add cooked beans, carrots and sweet corn as a toppings or side dish.
THIS IS IT!
I've just made my blog. I need to go home
Our dinner today is that_the "malunggay burger w/ mushroom sauce".
